Press Release 06042015 (2) – Black San’ Bang-A-Lang J’ Ouvert Ended Without Major Incident
The community of Sandy Point since 31st March, 2015, came alive with its annual Festival; The Black San’ Bang-A-lang.
Division “B” of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force was placed in the spotlight in policing this activity, having held discussions with the organizers.
The organizing committee of the Festival, S.P.I.R.I.T.S., engaged the division at a very early stage, where they were instrumental in devising, drafting and executing a Policing Plan.
On Monday 6 April 2015, The Festival’s J’Ouvert Jam Session was held, member of the security forces were out executing the policing plan for the event. The jam ended without any major incident, however, one person was taken to the police station for possession of Cannabis.
Divisional Officer, Superintendent Cromwell Henry therefore takes this opportunity to thank the revellers their cooperation with the Security Forces, and ensuring the the events are conducted peacefully. He also asks that for the remaining events patrons to continue to cooperate with Security Forces and ensure safety and security for all.
